There are many ways we on the internet can embarrass ourselves. One is to start a blog, another is to start a podcast.
Now, I've done both!
What got into me? A bunch of things. Not enough ID work, for one, so a body needs to stay active and involved in the business somehow. I've also been working on an ID Fanatic website offering online courses on ID subjects, and looking for ways to attract eyes to that. Blogging is recommended, but though I enjoy putting my thoughts down I don't want to make too much of a habit of it.
Then I learned about another ID podcast and thought hey, I could do that! For subject matter, I was inspired by the weekly Friday chat, GLDC, the "Global Learning and Development... C-something", run by John Hinchcliffe (https://mygldc.org), where ordinary instructional designers from around the world get together to shoot the breeze and play a trivia game. I found it refreshing to be able to talk shop, and found that I was really interested in learning how others navigated the ID world, and that I was good at leading the breakout groups when things got quiet.
So the podcast will just be me talking with other IDs about our lives and careers and maybe pizza. Have a listen, and subscribe if you like it wherever you get podcasts.
And if you want to sponsor it or buy ads, I'm down for that, too!
